Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 30, 2026
1. Purpose of This Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the rules and expectations for using RangePulse, including both the free self-hosted version and the cloud-hosted service ($4.99/mo). Our goal is to keep RangePulse safe, reliable, and useful for everyone who depends on it to track their health.
By using RangePulse in any form, you agree to follow this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.
2. Acceptable Use
RangePulse is designed for personal health tracking. The following uses are encouraged and supported:
- Personal health tracking — Recording your own blood pressure, weight, heart rate, mileage, and other vitals over time.
- Generating reports for medical appointments — Creating clinical PDF reports that summarize your personal health data to share with your healthcare provider.
- Self-hosted: any lawful purpose — If you run RangePulse on your own infrastructure using the free self-hosted version, you may use it for any purpose that complies with applicable law.
Important: RangePulse is not a medical device. It is a personal health tracking tool. Reports generated by RangePulse are summaries of user-entered data and should not be treated as a substitute for professional medical evaluation.
3. Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited when using RangePulse, particularly the cloud service:
- Providing medical advice to others — You may not use RangePulse to diagnose, treat, or advise others on medical conditions. RangePulse is for personal tracking only.
- Presenting reports as clinically validated medical records — RangePulse PDF reports summarize self-reported data. They must not be presented as official, clinically validated medical records or diagnostic documents.
- Creating accounts for others without consent — You may not register accounts or enter health data on behalf of another person without their explicit consent.
- Automated or bot access to the cloud service — Automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other non-human access to the RangePulse cloud service is not permitted without prior written authorization.
- Accessing other users' data — Any attempt to access, view, modify, or exfiltrate data belonging to another user is strictly prohibited.
- Abusing cloud storage — Using the cloud service to store non-health data at scale, or otherwise consuming resources in a manner inconsistent with normal personal health tracking, is not allowed.
- Reverse engineering the cloud service — You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the RangePulse cloud service. (This does not apply to the self-hosted version, which is provided with its source code.)
- Circumventing security measures — Any attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with RangePulse security features, authentication systems, or access controls is prohibited.
4. Data Integrity
RangePulse relies on data that you enter manually. Because of this:
- You are responsible for entering accurate data. The usefulness of your health reports depends directly on the quality of the data you provide.
- Intentionally entering false data is prohibited. Deliberately recording inaccurate readings that could mislead a healthcare provider — for example, fabricating blood pressure values to obtain a specific diagnosis or prescription — violates this Policy.
- RangePulse does not validate data accuracy. We do not verify that the values you enter are medically accurate. We may flag values that appear out of normal range, but this is informational only and not a guarantee of correctness.
5. Cloud Service Fair Use
The RangePulse cloud service is a shared resource. To keep it running well for all users, the following fair use expectations apply:
- Reasonable API usage — Excessive API calls, rapid-fire requests, or patterns consistent with automated abuse may result in temporary rate limiting or account review.
- Storage limits — Each cloud account is subject to reasonable storage limits for health data and generated reports. If you consistently exceed these limits, RangePulse may contact you to discuss your usage.
- Right to suspend — RangePulse reserves the right to temporarily suspend accounts that consume disproportionate resources, degrade service for other users, or otherwise abuse the cloud platform.
Self-hosted users: Fair use limits apply only to the RangePulse cloud service. If you run the self-hosted version, you manage your own resources and these limits do not apply.
6. Reporting Violations
If you believe someone is violating this Policy, or if you have encountered abusive behavior related to RangePulse, please contact us:
Email: hello@rangepulse.com
When you report a violation, here is what happens:
- Investigation — We review the report and gather relevant information.
- Assessment — We determine whether a violation occurred and evaluate its severity.
- Action — Depending on the outcome, we may issue a warning, suspend the account, or terminate it entirely.
- Notification — The account holder will be notified of any action taken, along with the reason and any available recourse.
7. Consequences of Violation
Warning
For first-time or minor violations, we will issue a written warning via email explaining the violation and what is expected going forward.
Suspension
For repeated violations or moderately serious incidents, your account may be temporarily suspended. During suspension, you will not be able to access the cloud service, but your data will be preserved.
Termination
For severe violations — including unauthorized access to other users' data, deliberate security circumvention, or illegal activity — your account may be permanently terminated. You will be given an opportunity to export your data before termination unless doing so would compromise the safety of others or violate legal requirements.
Data Preservation
In cases involving potential legal liability, RangePulse may preserve account data as required by law, even after account termination.
8. Changes to This Policy
RangePulse may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify cloud service users via email.
9. Contact Information
If you have questions about this Policy or want to report a violation:
Email: hello@rangepulse.com
We aim to respond to all inquiries within two business days.
10. Effective Date
This Acceptable Use Policy is effective as of March 30, 2026.
